Happy New Year 2023

The first Times Square New Year's Eve bash was held in 1904.

Believe it or not,

the first Times Square New Year's Eve celebration was held to commemorate the opening of The New York Times' new headquarters

at the intersection of 7th Avenue, Broadway, and 42nd Street.

No ball was dropped until three years later, though, when the city banned fireworks and the Times' owner, Adolph Ochs, decided to keep the party going by dropping a 700-pound ball made of iron and steel from the top of the newspaper's office building at midnight.

Make IT 2023 your best year ever - if YOU do not know how - learn how to live.
